| What is MIS Surgery?
MIS stands for ” Minimal Incision Surgery”. MIS is defined as surgery performed with the smallest incision possible to allow the insertion of specialized instruments to cut tissue and bone. Surgeons use either cameras called arthroscopes or specialized Xray machines called fluoroscopy to see what they are doing during surgery. MIS surgery requires many hours of specialized training by the surgeon to become proficient in the technique.
